Cycle For Life Ride/Fundraiser
On May 16, Brian Carlson, Brookanne Mickelson, and Maikel Wise were hit by a drunk driver. All were injured severely and face a long uphill battle. An upcoming fundraiser and cycling awareness ride, The Cycle for Life Ride will help make that battle a little easier. It will be held on September 25th at Eden Park, 5500 E. 2200 N., in Eden, UT in Ogden Valley. Access to the start either via Trapper's Loop or Ogden Canyon. Events start at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. Following this at 8 a.m. there will be a choice of four rides with distances of 8, 30, 66, or 100 miles: a century over Trapper's Loop and around Morgan Valley, a ride to the Trapper's Monastery, a ride around Pineview Reservoir and a ride to Liberty. Riders can do more than one route. A registration fee of $20 ($5 for kids under 12 and $25 day of) includes a tee shirt, maps and cue sheets, snacks and road assistance. Organizers (CADD-Cyclists Against Drunk Drivers) of this event hope to continue helping injured cyclists with similar fund raisers in the future.
