December 10, 2014 – Need a tax deduction? Like bikes? Live in Utah? You need a Share the Road License Plate.

Utah’s Share the Road license plates are a reminder to road users that all vehicles, including bicycles, deserve respect. In addition, the funds raised through the license plates goes towards the promotion and education of safe bicycle operations, safe motor vehicle operation around bicycles, and healthy lifestyles.

In case you needed another reason to get your Share the Road plates, the annual fee is tax deductible. When you get or renew your license plates, make sure the $25 fee is itemized on your receipt. If you don’t have your plates yet, get them now before tax season.

The plates benefit Bike Utah, a statewide non-profit advocacy organization.

To obtain a plate, go to your local DMV. For more information, visit: http://dmv.utah.gov/vehicles-services-menu/license-plates/special-group-plates#sharetheroad
