Cycling West Media Internship

Cycling West Magazine is a monthly magazine and website covering bicycling issues and events throughout Utah. We often have openings for an intern in spring, summer, or fall for at least three months, possibly longer.  Duties could include information gathering, event reporting, feature articles, photography, web research, perhaps some advertising sales, and perhaps some delivery. You can get school credit through your college or university

• Skills required:  solid writing skills, fluency with email, detail oriented, interviewing skills, ability to work independently.

• Prefer someone with knowledge of bicycling, transportation issues, bike racing, and/or sports.

This is an unpaid internship.  Hours would likely average 6-12 per week.  The intern would be working on their own, but communicating frequently with magazine staff.

Cycling West Magazine is a print and web publication that is published eight months a year, March through October.  We print and distribute 11,000-15,000 copies of each issue.  These are distributed throughout Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, western Colorado, and Nevada. Cycling West Magazine is the primary source for cycling news, information and events in the Mountain West region since 1993.  We regularly feature articles on trails, advocacy, and events, great photos, and the only comprehensive cycling event calendar in the region.   Our readers range from recreational cyclists to racers, mountain bikers to touring cyclists, and the young to young-at-heart.
