By Charles Pekow — The deteriorating Crown Point Trail will get restored. The former railbed converted to a multi-use trail along Lake Cascade outside Cascade, ID, a popular mountain biking line, has suffered damage from “uncontrolled surface runoff,” according to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The trail lies along a reservoir operated by the Bureau of Reclamation.

The project includes restoring 2.7 miles of the flat 5.9-mile trail, updating the trailhead (including making it compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act) improving drainage, building a beach access trail and installing a vault toilet. Lake Cascade State Park operates the southern section to be restored. Valley County Pathways operates the northern section.

In March, FHWA was seeking bidders for the construction. Details at  https://sam.gov/opp/cfa64243aa39485e9ccdccfaa80e2f1a/view
