Income-qualified residents can register beginning Aug. 24 for rebates worth at least $1,000 toward qualifying e-bike purchases.
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (Aug. 6, 2026) — Colorado will revive its popular e-bike rebate program this month, offering point-of-sale discounts to more than 2,800 income-qualified residents during the next year.
The Colorado Energy Office will fund the new rebates with $3 million from the Community Access Enterprise. The funding creates an ongoing source of money for future rebates.
“E-bikes are fun, convenient, reduce traffic congestion, and help Colorado meet our bold clean air and climate goals. I am excited to build on our momentum from a successful initial round of e-bike rebates to offer more savings to Coloradans choosing to purchase an e-bike. Colorado is leading the way by innovating to reduce pollution and give Coloradans more options to get where we need to go efficiently and safely. E-bikes are the future and I look forward to more Coloradans taking advantage of these money-saving rebates,” said Gov. Jared Polis.
Colorado initially offered e-bike rebates from summer 2023 until residents exhausted the available funding in spring 2025. The program helped nearly 8,000 Coloradans save more than $9.75 million on e-bike purchases.
More than 34,000 people applied during the program’s initial run. According to a Colorado Energy Office survey, 89 percent of rebate recipients said they would not have purchased an e-bike without the incentive.
Recipients replaced an average of 2.85 private-vehicle trips per week with e-bike rides. The state estimates those trips collectively avoided annual emissions equivalent to driving a conventional gasoline-powered car 8.85 million miles.

As demand continues to soar, we are excited to bring back this popular program with ongoing funding so that more Coloradans can enjoy the many benefits e-bikes offer.”
Who Qualifies
Colorado residents with household incomes at or below 80 percent of the area median income for their county can apply.
The standard rebate provides $1,000 toward a qualifying e-bike. Applicants can receive an additional $300 for an e-cargo bike or $300 for an adaptive e-bike.
The Colorado Energy Office will open registration quarterly during the next year. Each registration period will remain open for one week, allowing residents to register at any time during that window.
The first registration period opens at 11 a.m. MDT on Monday, Aug. 24, and closes at noon MDT on Monday, Aug. 31. The state will post a link to the registration portal on its E-Bike Rebate webpage when registration opens.
Applicants initially need to provide only their names and contact information. After registration closes, the Colorado Energy Office will randomly select prospective recipients and notify them by email.
Selected applicants will then have one week to provide documentation verifying their income and Colorado address. The program website lists acceptable forms of documentation.
Recipients must redeem their rebates by purchasing qualifying e-bikes in person or by telephone from a participating retailer. The Colorado Energy Office continues to enroll retailers, and it expects the list to grow as outreach continues. The program website also provides details about qualifying e-bikes.
Recipients may combine the rebate with Colorado’s E-Bike Tax Credit discount when purchasing from a retailer participating in both programs.
Residents of communities with their own e-bike incentive programs, including Denver, may apply for the statewide rebate. However, recipients cannot combine a local rebate with the state rebate on the same e-bike purchase. The restriction aims to make incentives available to more residents across Colorado.
