RICHFIELD, Utah — Looking for wide-open roads, clean mountain air, and a cycling event that trades the hustle of the big city for the warmth of small-town Utah? Then circle August 16, 2025 on your calendar—the Sevier Valley Rooster Ride is back, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most scenic and satisfying rides of the summer.

Hosted in Richfield, this annual event draws more than 300 cyclists each year to pedal through the quiet backroads and red rock canyons of Sevier County. The name “Rooster Ride” nods to the region’s pheasant hunting history, but these days, the only thing cyclists are hunting for is an unforgettable day on the bike.
Three Routes, One Incredible Valley
Whether you’re pushing for a century or spinning for the views, the Rooster Ride offers something for everyone:
- 100-Mile Century Ride: With 3,500 feet of climbing and a course that winds through canyons, farmland, and open range, this is a challenge worthy of your summer training.
- 62-Mile Metric Century: A balanced route with moderate elevation and some of the best scenery in Central Utah.
- 37-Mile Ride: Ideal for casual riders or those looking to take it easy and enjoy the landscape without the miles piling up.
All three routes are fully supported, with five well-stocked aid stations offering hydration, snacks, mechanical support, and friendly encouragement from local volunteers. Along the way, riders pass natural and cultural landmarks like Fremont Indian State Park, home to ancient petroglyphs etched into canyon walls.

Why Ride Here?
Sevier County is proudly known as “Utah’s Trail County”, boasting over 2,000 miles of trail access and a growing reputation as a hub for outdoor recreation. But when it comes to road cycling, the region really shines with its wide shoulders, light traffic, and jaw-dropping views around every turn.
Add to that the strong sense of community—where volunteers wave from driveways and the post-ride lunch feels like a family picnic—and you’ve got one of Utah’s most underrated cycling events.
“Last year’s Rooster Ride brought nearly 300 cyclists to Richfield,” says Amy Myers, event organizer. “We’re excited to welcome even more in 2025. The combination of challenging routes, incredible views, and our supportive community makes this a must-ride event.”
