August 29 cycling event offers routes for riders of all abilities while raising money for adaptive recreation programs
PARK CITY, Utah — The National Ability Center will bring cyclists of all abilities together for the 20th annual Summit Challenge on Saturday, Aug. 29.
The fully supported event takes riders through the mountains of northern Utah while raising money for the center’s adaptive recreation programs. Organizers expect about 1,000 cyclists and nearly 200 spectators and have set a fundraising goal of $185,000.

Riders can choose from a 1-mile Discovery Loop or routes of 16, 25, 50, 80 and 100 miles. The event also offers adaptive-rider-only routes of 4 and 7 miles. Adaptive riders may participate free but must register in advance.
“The Summit Challenge is more than just a ride, it demonstrates what we can achieve when we come together to remove barriers,” National Ability Center CEO Willie Ford said. “Every participant, spectator and volunteer plays a critical role in helping us build a future where everybody has the opportunity to experience the outdoors.”

The National Ability Center will also host a free Vendor Village from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring vendors, music and food. Organizers invite spectators and other community members to attend.
