Cycling Possibilties, by Elliott Mott

West Davis Highway (SR-177) runs southeast to northwest, linking Farmington with West Haven, and its parallel paved bike path promises to draw heavy use. On the east it connects to the Legacy Highway and the Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail Trail; on the west it connects to the Syracuse Trail. The route gives cyclists an out-of-traffic path across Davis County, with easy connections to Shorelands Preserve, DWR’s Eccles Wildlife Education Center, and Antelope Drive, which leads to the causeway across the Great Salt Lake to Antelope Island.

Race organizers have used Yellow Creek Road, located in the southwest corner of Wyoming, numerous times for the Mirror Lake Road Race and Gran Fondo as an important connecting route between Chalk Creek and Evanston.

The seventh volume of Cycling Possibilities also includes gradient detail for the area’s popular climbs. Readers can buy it now directly from the printer, Bookbaby.com, or through Amazon’s online bookstore.

Elliott published the first volume of Cycling Possibilities in 1990 and has volunteered as organizer for over 1,150 group events.
